چکیده

Even though there are many existing computational models of the kinematics of the human hand, none of them has the required precision sufficient to allow for rebuilding a model of the human hand. Embedded in a larger project in building a robotic arm mimicking the dynamics and kinematics of the human hand and arm, our goal is to obtain a detailed description of the kinematics of a human hand. The model is obtained from MR recordings of the bones of the hand, in a large number of different poses. The kinematic description should take all possible active, muscle-driven finger movements into account, including the complexity of the finger joints. The result of this model will be used in a simulation of the human hand, as well as a basis for reconstructing the hand as a robotic device.

Asymmetric control mechanisms of bimanual coordination: An application of directed connectivity analysis to kinematic and functional MRI data

Mirror-symmetrical bimanual movement is more stable than parallel bimanual movement. This is well established at the kinematic level. We used functional MRI (fMRI) to evaluate the neural substrates of the stability of mirror-symmetrical bimanual movement. Right-handed participants (n=17) rotated disks with their index fingers bimanually, both in mirror-symmetrical and asymmetrical parallel mode...

Prediction of Kinematic Viscosity of Petroleum Fractions Using Artificial Neural Networks

In this work, artificial neural network (ANN) was utilized to develop a new model for the prediction of the kinematic viscosity of petroleum fractions. This model was generated as a function of temperature (T), normal boiling point temperature (Tb), and specific gravity (S). In order to develop the new model, different architectures of feed-forward type were examined. Finally, the optimum struc...

Movement model of a human hand based on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)

Building on a long tradition of developing robotic hands, we are developing robotic systems closely copying human hands in its kinematic and dynamic properties. To this end, we require an exact computational model of human hand kinematics in order to obtain optimal grasping properties. From a large number of MRI recordings of hand bones in various grasps, we construct a parametrisable kinematic...

A novel integrative method for analyzing eye and hand behaviour during reaching and grasping in an MRI environment.

The development of noninvasive neuroimaging techniques, such as fMRI, has rapidly advanced our understanding of the neural systems underlying the integration of visual and motor information. However, the fMRI experimental design is restricted by several environmental elements, such as the presence of the magnetic field and the restricted view of the participant, making it difficult to monitor a...

Aim: The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate imaging artifacts induced by Titanium, Zirconium, Titanium-Zirconium abutments in CT, MRI and CBCT imaging modalities. Methods: A 4×8mm titanium fixture was inserted in a dry human mandible. Titanium, Zirconium and Titanium–Zirconium abutments measuring 10.5 mm in height are located on the fixture, one by one. Each abutment was scan...
